Matip injury gives Klopp centre-half headache

Liverpool's latest defensive injury blow has left Jurgen Klopp with just two central defenders ahead of a hectic festive period.
Joel Matip has been ruled out for up to six weeks after breaking his collarbone in the Champions League win over Napoli, after fellow centre-half Joe Gomez was confirmed out for a similar period having sustained a leg fracture at Burnley last week.
Having splashed out a world-record fee for a defender last January in bringing Virgil van Dijk to the club, the Reds will not have been keen to spend on another defender so soon, though with a title race and Champions League knockout stage to navigate, Klopp’s hand may be forced.
